Our
vineyards were established in 1995, with a small planting
of Riesling and Cayuga White grapes on the Fosterville
Road site. In 1998 we added our first Chambourcin vines.
Over the next several years more Riesling, Chambourcin
and Pinot Noir were planted. In 2003 and 2004 we planted
Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Riesling on a site on
the southwest side of Owasco Lake. This gives us a total
of three acres of vineyards. The small vineyards allow
us to carefully tend the vines and harvest by hand,
producing high quality wine grapes.
We broke ground for the new Aurelius
Winery building and tasting room on Fosterville Road
in the summer of 2002 and opened our doors in May of
2003. Our tasting room offers a cool and relaxing atmosphere
for you to enjoy our fine Finger Lakes wines. You’ll
find personal and friendly hosts and you can meet the
winemaker just about every weekend. Tours of the winery
and vineyard are always available. We enjoy sharing
wine stories with many of our home winemaking customers,
and provide information for those interested in growing
grapes or making wine. Stop in soon.
